Are Your Ready For FCIA Summer 2017?
The Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA) sent out a "sneak peek" of the line up of activities for Saturday, June 24 and we are excited to pass it on to you!
FCIA is celebrating their 10th anniversary and continues to improve in every aspect. In less than 1 month, Chocolatiers and Chocolate Makers will come together at the InterContinental Hotel in NYC in a larger venue with separate and larger rooms for Table Talks, Huddles, and the formal program. There will be MORE FOOD to include a robust lunch and light appetizer buffet during the Gallery Showcase, 3 newly designated heirloom cacao beans will be introduced and sampled (always a highlight!), and 2 keynote presenters and 1 special guest presenter will help round out the day.
Dr. Sukha, Research Fellow at the Cocoa Research Centre, The University of the West Indies, and on the Cocoa of Excellence Committee, will guide participants through a morning Cocoa Sensory Workshop with a tasting and then will lead an afternoon session titled Quality Along the Cocoa Value Chain and Its Link to Flavor.
Lauren Adler of Chocolopolis will serve as moderator for the keynote speakers: Jacques Torres of Jacques Torres Chocolate and Alex Whitmore of Taza Chocolate.
Plus, during the Galley Showcase, participants can view and bid on a number of useful and FUN items in the "Not So Silent Auction!" TCF Sales has donated a KREA Swiss 6 kg chocolate melter valued at $550.
