Flexipan® Non-Stick Baking Molds

CARE & USE INSTRUCTIONS

Below are instructions for using and properly caring for Demarle non-stick moulds. Find out how to handle your moulds (or molds) and fill and bake with your moulds. We advise you how to properly use your molds for freezing applications too, and tell you how to de-mold baking cavities without damaging your shapes. Learn how to properly clean and store your silicone baking molds for a long life and non-stick baking properties.

HANDLING

  • Flexible Flexipan® molds can be used at temperatures varying from -40°F to +500°F (-40°C to +260°C).
  • Check to ensure that your molds are dry and clean.
  • DO NOT GREASE. It is not necessary and NOT recommended.

FILLING

  • Place your Flexipan® mold on a baking sheet or grid prior to filling for easy transport to the oven or freezer.
  • Use a perforated aluminum sheet or grid for maximum air circulation.
  • Fill all mold cavities, substituting water or a piece of dough in empty cavities.
  • To make a mousse, only fill cavities 3/4 of the way full, to leave room for a biscuit.

BAKING AND FREEZING

  • Place baking sheets with Flexipan® moulds in any ventilated or deck electric oven.
  • Temperatures and baking times may need to be adjusted depending on oven used.
  • Use a perforated aluminum sheet or grid to maximize air circulation.
  • Adjust baking time and temperature depending upon your oven.
  • Temperatures may need to be reduced by 20 - 25 degrees (10 degrees C).
  • To maximize durability and longevity, use within the recommended temperature guidelines.
DEMOULDING
  • Typically, small pieces should be demolded upon removal from the oven.
  • Fragile foods like sponge cakes should be allowed to cool before demolding.
  • Demolding is easily accomplished by bending the mold around frozen or gelified foods, or by turning the mold upside down for baked goods.
  • For small products, simply lift an edge of the baking sheet or tray for quick removal.
  • Do not use knives or sharp tools.

CLEANING

  • Wash and/or soak in hot soapy water with a non-abrasive sponge and mild detergent (neutral Ph=7).
  • Wash regularly. A build up of grease is detrimental to the material's durability.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Aggressive detergents (too acidic or basic) will damage molds very quickly.
  • Shake off excess water and hang or lay flat on surface to dry. Sterilize by placing Flexipan® molds in the oven at 212°F (100° C) for 2-3 minutes for sterilization and proper hygiene.

STORAGE

  • For best results, Flexipan® molds or trays should be stored upside down in plies of 6 or less.
  • Shapes that are very deep and straight, like heart and cylinder shapes, should be stored in plies of 2 or less.
  • Do not fold the products. Flexipan® molds should be stored flat.

PRECAUTIONS

  • The life of your Flexipan® moulds will be increased if you take these precautions:
    • Do not fold or store in a folded position
    • Never cut or use sharp object on the surface
    • Do not grease
